Bardachd Raibert Burns (A4 ring-bound)
[RBWF0009]

This is a translation in to Scottish Gaelic of the complete works of Robert Burns based on the book of the late James Mackay. The translation was a lifelong work by Reverend Roderick Macdonald who was a Gaelic Speaker from the Hebridean Island of North Uist. The translations into Gaelic are of very high quality and accuracy ensuring that the poems and songs lose nothing in the translation. Gaelic speakers have commented that the translations are of such a high standard that the works of Burns could appear as having been written in Gaelic originally. Robert Burns heard Gaelic songs and conversations and he used a number of original Gaelic tunes for his songs. The most famous one is possibly "A fond Kiss" and that is described as being Rory Dall's Port... but that is actually from the Gaelic "Port Ruaridh Dhall" - Blind Roderick's Tune.
